01:CITY is a 44-page full-colour zine released by Joshua in late 2021. As a limited run of 100 total editions, 01:CITY raised double the required funding amount of its crowd-funded inception. With most editions now delivered to an international audience, there remains a select few available for purchase. Each zine is hand-finished, with extra bits thrown in for good measure.
This first zine studies the makeup of the city, the suburbs, & the diversity of the effects our lives have on our urban environment. This zine is the first in a series of views of the city & the people with it. 02:CITY is in the draft stage & will be available soon in matching print format to 01:CITY & the rest of the series to follow. Current works & projects
An ongoing series documenting the humans from Oxford Street to Embankment, two popular tourist areas in the heart of the London machine. As scores pass through every hour, the footfall exceeds the millions, with moments of rare horror & splendour hidden throughout the fray. Join me on my macabre adventure into the blackened concrete forest, full of pain, fear, love, joy, bodily fluids, & a decimated wheelbarrow spilling out the now-broken disenfranchised dreams of the maggots. Their pulse fades into obscurity as the steady authoritarian trickle of faceless grey pushes forward, wall-like, en-masse, burying any traces of the once great society that knew how to think.
As thens of thousands of children, women, & men, have their bodies & their lives ripped apart by the indifference of the Israeli war machine, the world marches in protest against the atrocity of the genocide of the Palestinian people. If you treat a people worse than animals, & show them how to treat others worse than animals, these people will become very angry. They will push back the only way they know how & do to their jailors the same that has been done unto them for decades.
The conflict appears to be defined by one question, however. Do you condemn Hamas?
Climbing a Mountain, Lake District - June 2023
Exactly what it says on the tin with this one. I went to the lake district, drank several bottles of rose for breakfast, climbed a mountain, deeply regretted the wine, slept on the mountain, awoke full of anxiety & fear, came home again. Would recommend to a friend. 7/10.
Torino, Italy - April 2023
Watched Frankito get choked out by Mitch on a Torino night bus whilst we shouted “We’ll fuck you up, we’re English”, the world’s most intensely terrifying glass lift, post-choke roadside burritos in the ass end of nowhere, & copious amounts of wine. Torino is fantastic. 9/10
